During the 2009 play-offs we enlisted a host of individuals from around the game to predict who would progress week on week. As well as who would win each game we asked a few other questions along the way such as who would be crowned the Man of Steel and who’d lift the Harry Sunderland Trophy. All the predictions can be found below.

Overall Summary

Congratulations to Sky Sports presenter Mike ‘Stevo’stevo Stephenson who came out as our top pundit! Stevo correctly predicted nine outcomes during the 2009 play-offs. 5live’s George Riley took second place with eight correct predictions followed by News of the World journo Julie Stott, League Weekly’s Rebecca Smith and Rugby World Magazine’s Tim Butcher all who foretold seven correct outcomes.
All their predictions can be seen below…..

In Summary

In Summary
The panel is united in its belief that the Rhinos will make it to their third successive Grand Final and bring an end to the Dragons’ dream. They have mixed feelings with regards to Wigan/Saints with a large majority swaying towards a derby day to remember for Wigan. As for the Man of Steel; our punters believe again that the merits are going away from Knowsley Road with an almost 50/50 call between aussie Hodgson and our very own panellist Mozza!

In Summary
It’s clear to see that, according to our experts, both Huddersfield and Wigan are favourites to progress to Week Three. With this in mind we asked who our pundits believe the Rhinos will pick in the “club call”. Everyone chose the winner of the Huddersfield/Catalans match! It’s obvious to say the panel think Leeds will avoid choosing Wigan.

In Summary
Sky Sports’ Stevo fires into the lead as he correctly predicts all four matches from Week One. Adrian Morley is slightly lagging behind as he predicted just two of the four matches correctly. Everyone else anticipated three of the four and proved that Wakefield’s loss at home to Catalans was the biggest shock of the weekend for most.
